Here in the summer of 2010, the “War to take back America” is gaining momentum in Tooele County. The spring saw unprecedented interest and attendance at our Caucus meetings, as well as record attendance from Tooele County Delegates at the County and State Conventions. It also saw an amazing slate of candidates come forward to throw their hats in the ring and volunteer to serve their friends and neighbors by running for public office. From political veterans to newcomers, we have incredibly well qualified people running for many offices here in the County and for the Statehouse.

Our fundraising efforts have been successful on a scale never seen in Tooele County, and we will be participating in the campaign process at levels we’ve never been capable of before. We have amazing representation at the State Party. It’s a great time to be a Republican in Tooele County!

So, what now? Very simple, push the pace even higher! They were all involved in the various Independence Day parades around the County. We have just completed hosting our first booth at the Tooele County Fair. Virtually every candidate we have spent time meeting the people over three great days. They’ve all been getting out and meeting people and spreading the good word every chance they’ve had, from the “Friday’s on Vine” concert series in Tooele, to the “Old Folks Sociable” in Grantsville , from the parade for Stansbury Days to breakfast in Stockton for Stockton Days, our candidates are everywhere! They will be working a booth at the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce Business Expo/Taste of Tooele on September 8^th at the pool park in Tooele. They will be serving ice cream at the 2^nd annual Bi-Partisan Ice Cream Social at the Benson Gristmill on Sept. 15^th.

Here’s the only thing we need to make 2010 even better: YOU! All of these candidates need your help. The best way to guarantee that we are successful in November is to make sure that we do everything possible to get our message out to everyone you know, and make sure those people show up to vote! Are your friends and neighbors registered? If you or someone you know isn’t registered, or hasn’t updated their registration, let us know!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The only thing that can stop us from taking back our Country is our own apathy. If you’re reading this, you’ve taken the first step away from that apathy. Pick up the pace, do one more thing to get involved (or get someone else involved) and let’s make 2010 the year we took back America, starting in Tooele County!
